Different countries. Different languages. One moment of memory.
An architect from Kyiv. A doctor from Yerevan. A baker from Lviv. A railroad worker from Minsk. A director from Mariupol. An engineer from Almaty. An archaeologist from Luhansk. A doctor from Tashkent. A miner from Donetsk. A student from Bishkek. An engineer-scientist from Dnepropetrovsk. A builder from Riga. An entrepreneur from Khartsyzsk. A teacher from Tbilisi. An emigrant from Ukraine. A musician from Warsaw. A politician from Ancient Rus'. A pensioner from Dushanbe. A worker from Volgograd. A professor from Prague. A journalist from Krasnodar.
Ukrainians, Poles, Belarusians, Georgians, Russians, Kazakhs, Uzbeks, Kyrgyz, Tajiks, Armenians, Latvians, Jews and people from different countries and different families, all for whom the memory of the war is not a formality
This memory does not belong to one country. It belongs to all who lost, survived, remember, and do not want death to become the language of politics again.
Memory doesn't retire. Generations change. Living witnesses pass away. But the memory that lives in people is passed on from parents to children. That's why we gather on May 9th. Physically. Together. Publicly.
Program.
A Call for Peace.
The finale of the memorial rally will include a call for peace. This moment will mark the symbolic launch of the UWA peace initiative, the Initiative of Remembrance, Responsibility, and Joint Action for Peace.
The memory of war must not become the language of hate. It must remain a responsibility to the dead, to the survivors, and to those living today.
